History
During the early 1980s a
group of health professionals in Western Australia formed the Promotion of
Continence Association which later became the
Continence Foundation of Australia (WA Branch). This
group initiated the development of a Telephone Advisory Service that was funded
by several grants until 1994 when it received funding from the Home and
Community Care (HACC) Program.
Since July 2001 the core
business of the Continence Advisory Service has been providing the following
HACC Service Items; Counselling/Support, Information, Advocacy and Assessment.
Our core business is to
provide information, education and advice on bladder and bowel control issues to
all those directly or indirectly affected. This includes all members of
the public such as clients, carers,
students, health professionals and various
health and community agencies. |
